2008-2009 UPDATE

SO MUCH IS HAPPENING!

Even though we haven't had meetings this winter, life for the RNA continued without them. Who needs meetings!?

Actually, we DO need to have our regular quarterly meetings. Yet, so much went on without them!

Thanks to Linda French and our CoPAC emails, we didn't miss a beat. And we got Megan Turf's and Denise Cutlip's "what happening in the city" emails, too. So, we knew everything that was happening and could plug-in.

Other RNA activities continued on their merry ways, as well.

HAPPY SPRING!

(Close your eyes, and click your heels threeee times, while repating: It's NOT snowing! It's NOT snowing! It's NOT snowing!)

SEE!? IT'S REALLY SPRING!

The RNA Steering Committee met last week after a long winter hiatus and decided it's time to socialize and just have some fun!

Mark your calendars for the following events:

- SATURDAY, April 25 - EARTH DAY for a Neighborhood Cleanup. 10AM-NOON. To be followed by a bowl of tasty soup or your favorite sandwich at Beezy's on Washington Street, our new neighborhood eating spot.

YOU'RE INVITED!

The RNA is sponsoring a showing of the DVD "North Adams" in the Corner Brewery lounge on November 5, 2008. Arrive at 7:00PM ... stoke your growler ... settle in for the showing at 7:30. It's a must-see! Discussion follows. (Running time: 56 minutes)

RNA - September 25th - Membership Meeting

It's time for a General Membership Meeting ... a good time actually to see each other after a busy summer. And now that we're all back from vacations, back to work and/or school ... time for us to catch up on what's happening locally.

RNA's "The Guided Walking Tour Company" of Ypsilanti

Tours include historic, architectural and anecdotal highlights along these Riverside Neighborhood thoroughfares in the heart of Ypsilanti's Historic District.

RNA Walking Tours

Progress on the Guided Walking Tours ...

As you know, the RNA is developing Guided Walking Tours for our neighborhood.

The purposes are to promote our neighborhood's: 1) history and preservation effots, 2) our walkable proximity to a revitalizing Downtown and Cross Street/Depot Town districts, 3) our liveability with safe streets, two wonderful parks and the river, plus wonderful neighbors, including EMU.

JIYT - Holy Bumbershoots, Batman!

True to form, the organizaers set up ... paused for a shower ...no, two showers ... put some merchandise out around 1PM ... then kibbitzed the rest of the day, drank ice cold soft drinks, ate fabulous homemade Palestinian food prepared by one of Sarah Bratcher's classmates ... sold a few things to pedestrian and vehicular passersby ... and closed shop just before 7PM.

We missed you!

Showers in the morning, when the garage sale addicts are out and about did us in. Would've been the same on Sunday. Rain in the AM ... clear, breezy but warm all afternoon.
